The Laredo Theater Guild International set design for Class on Stage: Frankenstein distilled Mary Shelley’s gothic masterpiece into a stark, modern visual language. Using industrial materials, translucent panels, and controlled lighting, the design created an atmosphere of isolation, tension, and revelation. The corrugated backdrop became both laboratory and landscape — a shifting canvas of shadow and illumination that reflected the creature’s fractured humanity. Suspended movement and raw spatial composition transformed the stage into a visceral study of creation and consequence. Minimal yet hauntingly expressive, the design honored the story’s psychological depth while reimagining its horror through architectural restraint and light.
